CULLMAN – The melodic words reverberate throughout the auditorium: “My home is in my heart. My heart is in my home,” Dorothy chants. This is the timeless tale of The Wizard of Oz, Cullman style.
At home in the vast expansion of the Cullman Civic Center are the talented children of our city and counties participating in the annual tradition of Missoula Children’s Theatre International Tour, set to perform the beloved classic we all watched in Technicolor television many years ago.
The MCT tour group is a traveling trailblazer with an edgy entrepreneurial spirit. They travel anywhere and everywhere helping children realize their potential and passion in the performance arts through a weeklong theatrical boot camp of auditions, casting, rehearsal and performance.
The employees average a working total of 40 out of 52 weeks in a year out on the road. 2013 will see them off to all 50 states and 17 different countries, enabling them to work with 65,000 children.
