HANCEVILLE - Wallace State's basketball teams both wrapped up their home finales before Christmas with comfortable victories against Enterprise State at Tom Drake Coliseum on Saturday afternoon.
Five different Wallace State men scored in double figures as the Lions prevailed 87-57, winning their third consecutive game. The women opened the doubleheader with a 66-40 win.
Jeremy McKay, Wallace State's leading scorer, paced the Lions (10-4) in the men's game, pouring in 22 points behind four 3-pointers. Jacquise Moore chipped in with 17 points, JJ Hunt tied a season-high with 13 and Jay Murphy added 10 as the Lions matched their most points of the season.

HANCEVILLE - Wallace State Community College softball's Bobby McCracken Stadium has been selected as the junior college winner of the 2011 Stabilizer Solutions/National Fastpitch Coaches Association (NFCA) Field Maintenance Award. Five winners were announced nationally, one each from Division I, Division II, Division III, Junior College and High School ranks, and recognized at the 2011 NFCA Convention in Las Vegas on Nov. 30.
