HOLLY POND – The second annual local favorite Holly Pond Vintage Market was held this weekend with around 40 vendors set up at the Governor’s Park in Holly Pond selling antiques, vintage items, art, boutique clothing and much more. The Town of Holly Pond sponsored the event, while Wayne White and Robin Yates, owners of the Holly Pond antique store The Middle of Nowhere, organized it. There was a great turnout this year, considering the weather, and many from Holly Pond and the surrounding communities came to see what the market had to offer.

Market vendor and daughter of Yates and White, Bailey Frost, shared, “Holly Pond was excited to bring people from our own community together with people from outside communities to display antiques, vintage arts, crafts and boutique clothing.”

Local civic organizations set up booths at the market, too. Holly Pond United Methodist Church sold fried pies, the Holly Pond Lions Club sold brooms and mops, and there was a stand set up for donations to Carpenter’s Cabinet, which will continue to accept donations after the market is over.

Said Frost, “We are supporting our local civic organizations as well, and then this year we really wanted to focus on Carpenter’s Cabinet to help them with their food pantry that’s located right here in Holly Pond. That was our mission for this year.”

For the kids, the Guy Hunt Library and Museum put together a children’s play area that consisted of mini-golf and other fun activities while nearby a bounce house was set up for them to play in as well.

There were several vendors that offered food, like Kudzu Café, a stand offering roasted corn on the cob, and T’s Treats offering baked goods.
