CULLMAN, Ala. – In the hustle and bustle of holiday season and in a culture seemingly focused on instant gratification, a group called HAY Mamas or “Helping All Y’all” Mamas has stepped back to focus on slow living and intentional giving of handmade and locally sourced items at its Christmas Bazaar, set for Saturday, Nov. 18, 2023, at the North Alabama Agriplex.

According to organizer Angela Crauswell, the group is a growing community with the purpose of bringing women together by encouraging and growing with each other, specifically in the realms of homesteading, homeschooling and faith.   “We encourage others to share their knowledge so that we can all benefit and help one another,” smiled Crauswell, who assured that any woman who wants to join is welcome, not just mamas.  The idea for a handmade Christmas market came to Crauswell as a way for the public to support the talented women in the group by encouraging the public to shop small, shop artisanal and shop handmade. “We wanted a way to help small local vendors get their product out to share with the community and to help support one another,” she explained. “We believe that shopping local is very important as it supports the person making the items. When buying handmade or local items, you are helping a friend, family member or neighbor.”  Crauswell said there will be many vendors, selling items like handmade pottery, trending sublimated shirts and tumblers, baked goods and even herbal remedies. The HAY Mamas Christmas Bazaar will be Saturday, Nov. 18, 2023, at the North Alabama Agriplex from 10 a.m.-4 p.m.. There is no admission cost.
