CULLMAN, Ala. – One of Cullman’s newest developments, the Klein Building, is now home to one of Cullman’s first direct concierge primary care providers. Hawkins Medical & Wellness is taking a new approach to health care: for a monthly, quarterly or yearly fee, patients get access to the practice’s amenities and services, including next- and same-day scheduling, physicals, labs and scans.
Owners Dr. Jeremy Hawkins and his wife, Jacy Hawkins, R.N., said they hope to make health care easier to access and afford.
“With their retainer fee, they will get 24/7 access to Jeremy (Hawkins) or myself,” said Jacy Hawkins. “Anytime, anywhere – going out of town and need some medicine? You can just text me or call me and ‘bam!,’ we will get that for you.”
In addition to traditional health care services, the family and emergency medicine board-certified Jeremy Hawkins, along with his wife and fellow practitioner, Jacy Hawkins, also offer non-traditional services, including hormone, intravenous and weight therapies.
At a ribbon cutting for the practice on Tuesday, Feb. 6, attendees were invited in to experience the lush waiting room as well as the homey and warm aesthetic of the office. Cullman Mayor Woody Jacobs was also on-hand.
“I appreciate you being here in our downtown area, providing this service,” said Jacobs, laughing as he added, “It hit me a little bit when you were talking about weight management right after Christmas! But I do believe you will be very successful. Thank you for being a part of Cullman.”
Hawkins Medical & Wellness is located in Suite 145 of the Klein Building at 421 Third Ave. SE. It is open from 8 a.m.-5 p.m. Monday through Friday and can be reached at 256-531-3961.
