CULLMAN, Ala. – Cullman EMS will host enthusiastic and hungry chili lovers from around the area for its sixth annual 911 Chili Supper & Cook-Off this Saturday, Feb. 18, from 11 a.m.-1 p.m. at the Cullman VFW.  The event is open to the public for a $5 per person donation, with proceeds benefiting PTSD treatments for military veterans.

The chili will be prepared by first responders, including law enforcement officers, firefighters, dispatchers and EMA and EMS personnel. The chefs will prepare their own recipes to compete for the title of best chili. Community members will be the taste testers and will vote for their favorites. Awards will be given to first, second and third place and for the hottest chili.

While sampling the many chili recipes, the community will be entertained with live music and have the opportunity to win door prizes.

“This event is a time where those who serve their community come together for some friendly competition,” said Cullman EMS Director James Curtis in a press release. “It’s a great way for us to be able to meet the people of the community we serve, as well as an opportunity to give back to our community.”

There’s something for everyone at this year’s 911 Chili Cook-Off – so be sure to come out and join the fun! Whether you’re a chili fan or just looking for something to do on a Saturday afternoon, the cookoff is certain to be a tasty and exciting experience.

The 911 Chili Cook-Off will take place at the Cullman VFW at 112 Veterans Dr. SW. For more information or to register a team, contact James Curtis at 205-903-4486 or james.curtis@cullmanregional.com.
