CULLMAN, Ala. – The Cullman County Probate Office has implemented e-recording of some documents. Wendy Lambert, the office’s bookkeeper, address the Cullman County Commission at its meeting Tuesday.

Speaking on behalf of Cullman County Probate Judge Tammy Brown, Lambert said, “Judge Brown is always looking for ways to improve the services of the Cullman County Probate Office, and we’re very proud to announce the judge has implemented e-recording for our customers. And what that means is now documents that the probate office records such as deeds, mortgages, mortgage satisfactions (sic) can now be recorded electronically.”

According to Lambert, the office is using a vendor named Simplifile. She said e-recording benefits the public, financial institutions and attorneys the probate office serves, at no cost to the County. She said some advantages of using Simplifile are that documents are recorded in minutes, mailing costs are avoided for out of state businesses, no checks have to be written and documents are returned electronically, eliminating payment errors, saving time and reducing rejections.
