CULLMAN - A fire this morning at Inland Buildings in south Cullman has been contained, according to Cullman Fire Rescue Chief Brian Bradberry. The fire was reported shortly after 9 a.m.

“The fire was in a paint booth in the very back side of the building,” said Bradberry, who said there were no injuries to any Inland employees or firefighters.

“Right now, we’re just exhausting smoke from the building so we can get in there and see what’s going on,” said Bradberry. “Our guys are resting up, so they can go in shortly.”

Bradberry said the crew is now just looking for hot spots.

“The entire building has been evacuated,” said Bradberry. “They did a great job self-evacuating. They were doing a good job of that when we got there.”

Assisting CFR on scene were Cullman EMS and the Cullman Police Department.

Bradberry could not speculate on the cause of the blaze. “The fire marshal will looking into that,” he said.

Inland Buildings manufactures metal building components. It is located at 2141 Second Ave. SW.
