CULLMAN - Fairview stayed hot on the golf course Wednesday, six days after winning the Cullman County Tournament by knocking off Altamont and Hanceville in a nine-hole match at Cross Creek Course.
The Aggies had a team total of 169 with Altamont a distant second at 203, followed by Hanceville.

Junior Hunter McKelvy returned to Cross Creek after finishing third in the county tournament and compiled a one-over par 37 on the day to lead the Aggies against a school from Birmingham and another county opponent.

Hunter Yeager was next with a seven-over par 43, Jacob Allen an eight-over par 44 with Josh Barnes and Carter Robinson each carding a nine-over par 45. Robinson was promoted to the varsity this week after winning the county JV title last week, between his home course of Chesley Oaks and Cross Creek in the final round.

Holly Pond's Dawson Foust came back from a tough outing last Thursday at Cross Creek to shoot a two-under par 34 for his best nine-hole score of the season. Foust was the runner-up to Good Hope's Cole Pearson for the individual crown last week, after leading the first 18 holes by one stroke.

Coach Kurt Knight reported his Lady Aggies played well in a match on Tuesday at Chesley Oaks against Boaz. The Lady Aggies were back on the course five days after they won their seventh consecutive Cullman County title.

The Lady Aggies have been playing consistently all season, led by senior Maci Yeager, who was second in the county tournament, shooting a two-day score of 181. Yeager has been supported by efforts from Hope Bowen, Emmy Leigh Glover, Brileigh Roberts and Alivia Boyll.

Fairview will have two assignments next week at Chelsey Oaks to end the regular season. The Aggies will host the 5A Sectional Tournament May 1 with the Lady Aggies playing their sectional at Limestone Springs Course in Oneonta May 2.
