Temple Baptist Church- new Fairview campus

FAIRVIEW - Temple Baptist Church in Cullman has expanded their ministry to a new campus in Fairview, and the Tribune sat down with Campus Administrative Pastor Buchanan Jackson to see what this new branch has in store.

Buchanan says that one big thing the community can look forward to is Temple's recovery ministry. The church intends to help people in the community who need any kind of recovery aid, though the Fairview campus is still working on getting their ministry up and running. Buchanan also told the Tribune that, in the future, the church is looking at a lot of different options to help the community further, such as food drives or clothing donations. For now, though, the campus is still concentrating on their Sunday and Wednesday services and inspiring their congregation to go out into the community and help people on an individual basis.

The church also has plans for some big celebrations around the holidays, especially Easter and Christmas since "those are our best opportunities for people to come to church." The staff doesn’t know what exactly they'll do just yet, but they know they'll have plenty of sermons, services and other opportunities to help people get to know Christ.

It is unknown whether the church, which was purchased in October of last year and hosted its first service Sunday, Jan. 15, will be followed by more branches throughout the county. Buchanan says that, while there were currently no plans to continue expanding, they would gladly take any opportunity they're given.

When asked for a final comment, Buchanan stated simply, “We're just excited to be here. We noticed that people don't travel (or) drive very far to church, ten or fifteen minutes max, so (this) was a part of the community that we weren't reaching. We just wanted people to know that Temple Baptist Church is here if anyone needs any kind of help."

The new Fairview campus is located at 8701 Alabama Highway 69 N. Find them online at or
