East Elementary in 1st place at NASP world tournament

MYRTLE BEACH, S.C. - The National Archery in the Schools Program (NASP) World Tournament and 3D Challenge are happening this weekend in Myrtle Beach, and at the end of the day Saturday, East Elementary’s team is sitting in first place in the elementary division. East leads all other elementary teams with a score of 1366. Benton Elementary (LA) follows with 1358. Kingston Elementary (LA), Fairfield Christian Academy (OH), Maysville Elementary (OH) and Flaherty Elementary (KY) round out the top five schools.

Not only is East shooting well as a team, but they have put up some very good individual numbers as well. Carson Laney leads all fourth grade boys with a score of 280. Will Bolzle is 11th with a 240 score while Carson Starnes put up a score of 234 for 15th place.

Evan Johnson also posted a 280 score for second among all fifth grade boys. Jackson Henshaw sits at sixth with a score of 273. Tyler Owens and Arden Crane round out the fifth grade top 25 with scores of 259 and 253 respectively.

The fourth grade girls are led by Katie Skinner with a 274 score, good enough for fourth. Reese Fox recorded a score of 249 for 13th place.

Faith Rusk was the front runner for the fifth grade girls. She recorded a 256 that put her in 12th place. Hailey Segers followed with a 244 for 24th while Olivia Britton posted a 232 for 34th.

Also in Myrtle Beach from Cullman are the teams from Cullman Middle School, Good Hope High School, West Point Middle School and West Point High School.
